Established in 2008 to meet the needs of increasing UK legislation within the built environment – designed to reduce our carbon footprint and our growing appetite for energy.
Building Energy Compliance
We provide a comprehensive range of compliance certificates required under the UK’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. These include EPCs, DECs, TM44s.
Saving Energy – Reducing Costs
We produce non-biased reports helping you to work towards a zero-carbon future by highlighting the most inefficient areas of your building, such as HVAC, lighting, fabric or fuel.
For a Zero Carbon Future
By 2050 it’s expected that all UK buildings will be carbon neutral. The Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard is the legislative tool being used to create periodic changes in order to achieve this. With our experience we will advise on keeping your building within this legislation.
Since 2008 the Building Energy Practice has been providing clients with a broad portfolio of services, ranging from building compliance certificates to carbon reduction guidance:
We provide EPCs for all types of Non-Domestic buildings (shops, offices, workshops, industrial units etc) and Domestic EPCs (houses, flats etc) anywhere in the UK. In addition, we provide EPCs for the construction sector’s requirements for Part L of the building regulations.
An ACI report which complies to a content as described in CIBSE’s TM44 methodology is required by owners of AC equipment over 12kW.
A DEC is required by any organisation (excluding Scotland) that has a usable internal area greater than 250m², is visited by the public and is partly or wholly publicly funded. A DEC illustrates how efficiently the occupants and building are operated.
MEES has been designed to prevent landlords renting spaces that are classified as ‘Sub-Standard’. A Sub-Standard building or unit is defined as having a poor EPC rating. As a result of these regulations the carbon footprint of our worst performing buildings will be improved.
ESOS
