The Minimum Energy Efficiency Standards has been designed to prevent landlords renting spaces that are classified as ‘Sub-Standard’. A Sub-Standard building or unit is defined as having an EPC rating of an F or G. This classification is set to be increased to an E in the not too distant future, so landlords should be aiming for at least a D rating.
